Dyrskue Lyngdal
The Dyrskue in Lyngdal is a cattle show with many different types of animals, tivoli, food, games, horse rides – you name it. It is without a doubt that largest event in Lyngdal that attracts people from all over the country. You can buy local crafts, get a great hamburger, check out some tractors, cars and 4 wheelers or take an amusement ride.
One of the reasons that this event is so big, is because it has been a long tradition dating back to 1857. In 2010 there was a new record broken with 26,000 people in attendance.
This year I took my boys and this is what we got up to:

No trip to Dyrskue would be complete without a ride on the electric cars.

Yep candy is a must – hard to say no.

The event is a great way to learn more about animals.

The boys loved this one. Went around and around.

Lyngdal is about a 1.5 hour drive from Kristiansand and a 2.5 hour drive from Stavanger. The Dyrskue takes place on a large farm not too far from the church (see the map). Make sure you get there early because the car park can get full. There is parking for campervans as well. See you next year! Here is a little video from this trip to Dyrskue.
